What Does Claircognizance Feel Like?
Claircognizance is one of the psychic senses I have experienced for most of my life, although I spent many years without having language for what was happening. The simplest way I can explain it is this: I know something that I have no logical reason to know.
There is usually very little drama around it. Information appears in my awareness already formed. I do not see a vision first. I do not necessarily hear a voice. There may be no physical sensation announcing that something important has arrived. I simply have access to information that, five seconds earlier, I could not have explained how to access.
That subtlety is part of what makes claircognizance so easy to overlook. People expect psychic perception to feel extraordinary. Clear knowing can feel almost offensively ordinary. Your mind suddenly contains an answer, and because it arrived through your own awareness, the logical brain immediately assumes somebody must have left it there earlier.
Sometimes I have to stop and ask myself, Wait. How the hell do I know that?
That question has become one of the clearest indicators for me that claircognizance may be involved.
Clear Knowing Has Been Part of My Life Outside of Spiritual Work
One reason I separate claircognizance from generic ideas about intuition is that I have watched it operate in areas of my life that had absolutely nothing to do with spiritual practice.
I spent close to six years working in the e-commerce and training space. During that time, I was regularly asked to build, teach, explain, or create things I had never formally learned. I would be handed a problem or a project and somehow understand how the pieces needed to work.
There was no dramatic research process behind many of those moments. I was not spending three days buried in documentation before emerging from my office looking like I had survived a hostage situation with Google. I would simply understand what needed to happen and then create it.
At the time, I viewed much of that as being resourceful. Looking back across the larger pattern of my psychic perception, I recognize that clear knowing was woven through a lot of it.
Clear Knowing Can Be Extremely Practical
This is one of the things I think gets missed when people talk about claircognizance. Psychic information does not have to arrive while you are doing a reading, meditating, holding a crystal, or performing some kind of spiritual ceremony.
